ABOUT ELSA
Elsa Wahlstrom was born in Cambridge (not that Cambridge) and did her BFA in illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. She makes small, thoughtful artwork in traditional media. Her art can be your very own window to your favorite places, your treasured memories, or somewhere you somehow miss even though you’ve never been there. She hopes her drawings are a salve for the mind in a world that is increasingly full of noise, outrage, and “shock value”.
When she’s not drawing, she is either playing gloomy old country music or listening to it.
AWARDS
2020 - First place in the Best Storytelling category of the Red Shoe Awards, a juried competition at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design.
2011 (aged 12) - Blue Award at the Minnesota State Fair.
